Holly Atkins Joins CCME as Director of Business Development
Cary, NC- The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence (CCME), a nonprofit health care consultancy providing quality improvement, external quality review, and fraud, waste, and abuse services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Holly C. Atkins, M.Ent., CFE, CGAP, CHC, AHFI, CHIAP, as Director of Business Development. Atkins joins from the Healthcare & Life Sciences Division of KMPG US, LLP Risk Advisory Division, in Raleigh, NC, where she served as Audit Manager.
Atkins has more than 20 years of experience in proposal development, auditing State Medicaid agencies, healthcare providers, and non-profits, and assisting program integrity departments in numerous states regarding policy implementation, compliance, finance and operations audits. Her success record includes being part of a team that identified $4 million in fraud in the largest school system in NC and assisting a large healthcare entity on the US east coast recover $7 million due to fraudulent changes in vendor files.
Atkins is a Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Governmental Auditing Professional, Certified in Healthcare Compliance, Accredited Healthcare Fraud Investigator and Certified Healthcare Internal Audit Professional. She holds a Master of Entrepreneurship from Western Carolina University and Bachelor of Business Administration from SUNY Institute of Technology. Atkins is a member of the Board Raleigh/Durham Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors; and serves as a member of the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association, Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors, and Heath Care Compliance Association.
